?What is FIRST Tech Challenge

FIRST®Tech Challenge teams are formed in schools or other youth-based organizations and are led by two or more adults that mentor the students.  The students develop STEM skills, practicing engineering principles and keep an engineering notebook. Teams also raise funds, design and market their brand, as well as participate in community outreach.

Volunteers and teachers are the lifeblood of the program – they make it happen. Volunteering with Renaissance Jax is a great way to impact today’s youth in a new and exciting way, and there is a unique role for every person.

By offering a non-competitive environment to teach and inspire youths, Renaissance Jax seeks to ignite a passion for discovery and creativity.

Ready for the next level?

If your student is in the age range of 14-18, FIRST Robotics Competition might be the program for them! FIRST Robotics Competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. With limited time and resources, teams of students, with the support of adult mentors, build and program robots to perform challenging tasks in competition with other teams. They raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork and presentation skills, and perform community outreach.
