FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR

Grades K-4; ages 6-10

Enabling Discovery

Through exploratory research, hands-on construction, teamwork, and imagination, FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. challenges teams of up to six children to explore a scientific concept, then build a model and code it to make it move using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. They also develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE

Grades 4-8; ages 9-14

Fueling Curiosity

FIRST® LEGO® League gives teams of up to 10 students the chance to research a real-world challenge, then innovate and develop their own solution through designing, building, and coding LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robots to perform autonomous “missions” on a playing field.

FIRST TECH

CHALLENGE

Grades 7-12; ages 12-18

Creating Explorers

In FIRST® Tech Challenge, teams of up to 15 students explore the possibilities of STEM through designing, building, programming, and operating robots to play a competition challenge in an alliance format. They practice engineering principles while realizing the value of teamwork, innovation, and sharing ideas, and participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships.

FIRST ROBOTICS

COMPETITION

Grades 9-12; ages 14-18

Defining Their Odyssey

With limited time and resources, teams of students, with the support of adult mentors, build and program robots to perform challenging tasks in competition with other teams. They raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork and presentation skills, and perform community outreach. In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships.

"Every accomplishment starts with a decision to try. Our goal is to give kids the confidence and vision to create their own future."
